Koa trees, native to the Hawaiian Islands, are known for their impressive longevity. Throughout their long and storied lives, Koa trees remain a treasured species in Hawaii's unique ecosystem. Naturally, as they age, these trees become more susceptible to falling, due to strong winds, heavy rains, and natural decay.

In an effort to minimize environmental impact, Designs by AINA only harvests naturally fallen Koa trees and pledges to plant more Koa trees than we collect. Our priority is the preservation and growth of the Hawaiian forest so future generations can enjoy its natural wonder and beauty.

As we repurpose fallen trees into wearable timepieces, the land becomes a part of us. Each watch is unique just as the tree it came from. No two pieces are the same. Although the trees have fallen, their life and legacy live on, connecting us to the land and to what matters most: time.
